(Teacher’s remark: “Excellent”)
Things I have loved
Crickets’ gossip on a quiet eve,
gentle wind that messes my hair,
sweet honey that melts on my tongue,
sailboats on a quiet sea,
the bacon’s aroma on Sunday morning,
the mingled confusion at the county fair,
the children quarreling outside,
roses in the morning,
the farmer’s almanac,
fires in the winter,
beaches at sunset,
the mist around the sprinkler,
powder puffs,
the quiet n the evening,
distant buzz of bees,
velvet to touch,
laughter around me.
